A breakdown of traffic accidents occurring January through May on highways running from downtown confirms a long-held suspicion: The highways with the most accidents may not have the most fatalities. Minor accidents happen more often on North Central, but more people die on 1-45 because cars are moving faster. And while LBJ Is twice as long and has more lanes than North Central, it had about two-thirds the accidents-yet more of those were injury accidents. The rundown:
