THUMBS DOWN to the Dallas Independent School District’s Board of Trustees for clashing the last, best hope that DISD parents had for significantly upgrading the way our public schools are run. By preaching caution ad nauseum and then voting, in effect, to gut Superintendent MARVIN EDWARDS’S aggressive site-based management plan, the Board proves once again that its main contribution to education reform is to throw roadblocks in the way of progress.
