THUMBS UP to david cook, founder of Amtech Corp., for volunteering his company’s time and computer expertise to help police solve a case involving the rapes of five Oak Cliff schoolgirls. By putting a programmer to work scanning millions of license tags, Cook led the cops to (he alleged rapist’s door. The gutsy entrepreneur, who started Blockbuster Video and invented the electronic Tolltags, may be Dallas’s first new corporate hero since Ross Perot.
