FOLLOW-UP Egg-faced federal prosecutors vowed last November to retry former Garland land developer DANNY FAULKNER following his mistrial in a Lubbock courtroom. For the next clash, however, Faulkner must find another gladiator. Attorney CHERYL WATTLEY, who left her position with Ravkind, Rolfe & Baccus-Lobel to defend Faulkner on charges of defrauding several S&Ls, has already told the court she doesn’t expect to be at Danny’s side for the rematch.
“The traveling to and from Lubbock and the huge amount of time I spent on the case over 14 months caused me to neglect my family,” says the wife and mother of four. “I’m not willing to put them through that again.”
No date has been set for Round Two between the federal government and Faulkner. While she won’t be on the front lines, Wattley says she’ll lend her considerable expertise to Faulkner’s new attorney if asked-that is, “if he’s tried in or very near Dallas.”
