THUMBS UP to ALPHONSO JACKSON, executive director of the Dallas Housing Authority, for his agency’s work in purchasing more than 1,000 existing homes throughout the county to provide low-income housing on a lease-purchase basis. The timing couldn’t be better, since many of the homes the DHA will purchase are available at a fraction of the going rate several years ago. This kind of thinking could make Dallas a model city for low-income housing.
