Many were miffed when Channel 8 apologized for running a three-second clip of a black woman giving birth at Parkland, but the statistics support those who argued that the footage wasn’t representative. Of the 14,530 births at Parkland last year, 44.2 percent were Hispanic; 32.4 percent black; and 20.9 percent white.
