Wine BARS

|

Your nightlife retreat might include a grape escape. There’s something charming about a great little wine bar, and Dallas has some of the best. (Those Californians think they invented the wine bar – who are they kidding?)

Pinot’s is one of those great little wine bars where the staff is knowledgeable about every vintage offered. The cozy atmosphere is perfect for a quiet evening and a bottle of fine wine. 2926 Henderson. 826-1949.

The Wine Press has long been a favorite bistro for romantic gatherings. A massive wall of wine racks and balcony seating areas create the feeling of being in the great wineries in France. No passport necessary. 4217 Oak Lawn. 522-8720.

Owners of The Grape should get a commission for all of the romances this simple wine bar has created. While The Grape is a restaurant first and a bar second, this is one of the most romantic spots in town, with flickering candles, dimly lit dining seating areas and unobtrusive service. 2808 Greenville. 828-1981.

The sister establishment of Deep Ellum Cafe, Elm Street Wintry, delivers an upscale dining and drinking experience in Deep Ellum that mixes romantic candlelight dinners with a varied selection of wines. 2704 Elm. 748-6565.

St. Martin’s is not a church. It’s a quiet little wine bar on Lower Greenville that has withstood the test of time and Dallasites’ fickle tastes. Fine wine in a pleasant quiet setting best describes this gem. 3020 Greenville. 826-0940.
