THUMBS UP The Incentive Generation

|

Thumbs up to Pepsi-Cola for starting a program to pay high school students at Dallas’s Pinkston High School up to $500 a year to slay in school, make good grades, and keep off drugs. With government doing such an abysmal job of reinforcing our educational system, it is becoming imperative for private industry to take up some of the slack, and Pepsi is stepping forward to do that. The money paid to the students must be used for college or vocational training, and fifty specially selected teachers will each receive $1,000 grants for encouraging students to keep up the good work. Let’s hope that actions like this lead to a landslide of free-enterprise support to save our faltering educational system.
