Thumbs up to Richard C. Bartlett. president of Mary Kay Cosmetics Inc., for stopping the use of laboratory animals to test the health effects of Mary Kay makeup. Mary Kay is the first cosmetic company in the country to take such a step. Of all the uses of laboratory animals in the health and research fields, vanity product testing is one of the hardest to justify. We hope the rest of the cosmetic industry is watching and will follow Mary Kay’s lead.
