The rate of residential foreclosures for the first quarter of last year hit 18.7 percent in Dallas, compared to a whopping 25.6 percent in Austin, 10.6 percent in Houston, 17.5 percent statewide, and 2.5 percent in the nation, according to the Real Estate Center at Texas KM University. In the first quarter of 1985, the figure was 1.8 percent for Dallas.
