Thumbs up to City Council member Jim Buerger for filling a leadership vacuum in a tense moment. As the council was preparing to vote on the controversial City Charter revision plan, the meeting was disrupted by chanting demonstrators. When Mayor Annette Strauss seemed confused about what to do, Buerger suggested a recess. Later, Buerger appealed to County Commissioner John Wiley Price to stop the demonstration before tempers hit the flash point. Price led the group out shortly thereafter.
