THUMBS DOWN THE NATIONAL BOOR OF TEXAS

Thumbs down to Attorney General Jim Mattox for showing the rest of the country what many already knew: that he is a boorish big mouth with the emotional maturity of a hormone-hyped twelve-year-old. In whining that the choice of Ann Richards as the keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention gave her an unfair advantage in their race for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination in 1990, Mattox embarrassed us all. That he sat with the Texas delegation and glared at Rtchards’s fans added considerable insult to the whole tacky affair.
