THUMB AWARD New Ordinance is not the Ticket

Thumbs down to Mavericks general manager Norm Sonju, for proposing, and to the Dallas City Council for passing, an ordinance that prohibits individuals from.

selling tickets at Reunion Arena. We’ve never been harassed by would-be scalpers, but we have enjoyed the liberty of showing up for a concert or sporting event in the hopes of getting a ticket on the spur of the moment. And if someone chooses to pay the higher price, that’s his business. Surely there was some compromise measure that could have been drafted-like the one suggested by council member Jerry Rucker to restrict on-site sellers to a confined area. So much for spontaneity.
