THUMB AWARD Sour Notes From The Symphony

|

Thumbs down to the Dallas Symphony Board and its chairman Liener Temerlin for turning their collective noses in the air at the idea of locating the symphony’s popular STARFEST series at the huge, multimillion-dollar amphitheater planned for Fair Park. Festive open-air concerts, with concert-goers lolling and picnicking, are just what Fair Park needs to draw more people to this city treasure year-round. Dallas has underscored its respect for the DSO by committing massive public and private resources to the building of the new Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Hall underway in the Arts District. The symphony would do well to honor Dallas in return.
