FILE IT AWAY

The Back the Blue campaign that followed last January’s police shootings did wonders for cop morale. It also pumped new life into the dead battery business. It seems quite a few motorists left their lights on for Dallas police even after leaving their cars. On Tuesday, January 26 (the day of the largest show of support for the Blue), the American Auto Association reported 496 daytime calls, 175 more than the daily average of 321 for towing or jumpstarting services. The Texaco NorthPark Service Center received fifteen calls from folks with dead batteries, including three of its own employees.
