Thumbs up to City Manager Richard Knight and Mayor Annette Strauss for supporting a plan to establish a day center for street people in downtown Dallas. The center would receive $150,000 in city funds and would provide much-needed respite for the homeless who have no place to go-but the downtown library-after the Stewpot closes following the noon meal and before the Austin Street and other shelters open in the evenings.
