Thumbs down to the Garland City Council for putting DART on the block-again-at this critical turning point in the effort to bring 21st-century transportation to the Greater Dallas area. On April 4. Garland voters will say yes or no to a referendum on whether DART should be “continued” in the city of Garland. Granted, DART has been mired in stop-and-go rhetoric for most of its short life. But with Charles Anderson now at the helm, the transit system has a real chance to succeed. We urge voters in Garland to stay with DART. The future of the region is riding on it.
