CRESCENT ROLES

The Crescent has added two more fashionable retailers. California couture queen Lina Lee debuts on the first level with a 7,000-square-foot store that showcases the best of the West Coast. Window shoppers get a taste of safari from display mannequins that guard the store in jungle-colored separates.

The jungle, however, isn’t the only theme at Lina Lee. Various designer collections for business, travel, or casual weekends are available for men and women. Eighty percent of Lina Lee’s inventory is by exclusive European designers, including couture children’s clothes.

Company spokesperson Cally Hampton says. “Lina likes her customers to create their own looks by mixing designer separates.” The power of suggestion is a motto here. Staff members are briefed at the original Lina Lee boutique in Beverly Hills about designers, style variations, themes, and size proportions. Says Hampton, “We want our girls to be able to help the customer in every way that they can. Shoulder pads here. No belt there. Better in blue?”

San Roman, on The Crescent’s second level, continues in the high-fashion vein, specializing in a collection of designs that include suede basics, silk blouses, appliqued sweaters, and evening gowns.
