CLASSIC CONTRASTS
Navy and white is back, but don’t book passage on the high seas yet. It’s conservative combinations, not nautical nuances, that make up the majority of this year’s spring silhouettes. Almost all designers, across the board, present navy and white, navy and cream, and just plain navy. But nothing is plain about these stripes, patterns, and solids.
KHAKI AND OTHER HUES
Khaki, fresh from the jungle, has been tamed with pairings of white and cream along with solids in its journey out of Africa and into the business world, where some suit looks take on the board while others spin the color wheel.
KNIT-PICKING
Comfort and ease are paramount in coping with Dallas’ dustbowl days. Fresh knits and summer wools can beat the heat but still highlight the chic. And when the mood turns dressy, cool pastels can make summer evenings a breeze.
FROM SWEET TO SLEEK
Debutantes debut, hostesses host, and matriarchs meddle. But the one thing all social butterflies have in common is an urge to be the belle of the ball.
