THUMB AWARD QUE DICE EL HERALD?

|

Thumbs up to the Dallas Times Herald for its innovative decision to offer partial Spanish-language coverage of the earthquake in Mexico City in all of its regular editions. The coverage was a public service to Dallas’ Spanish-speaking community and thought to be the first time a Dallas daily has printed a breaking news story in Spanish. “We are aware of the large and growing numbers of Spanish-speaking citizens in the community,” says Times Herald editor Will Jarrett. “Many of them have friends and relatives in Mexico, and we want to provide all the information we can to them on this very important news story.”
