Once again, according to the sunn’s, Dallas enjoys the best image of any city in the United States.
Many explanations are offered – our locationour climate, our honest government, our diversifiedeconomy, our airport, our TV exposure, the Cowboys and theirCheerleader, our growth rate, our “can-do” attitude, our |entrepreneurial spirit. our courageous and creative businessleader, our beautiful and active women – the list goes onand on.
All these facts are true. However, there is an even more important and basic reason why Dallas is a winning city. Its because most of us follow the leadership of a winning Coach. To a much greater extent than most cities. Dallasites are God-fearing people who make prayer and worship a regular and dominant part of their family lifestyle.
It is symbolic that among the canyons of commerce in downtown Dallas, several beautiful churches and cathedrals serving large memberships continue their daily ministry for God. Among the cold, factual, revealing lights of business and commerce, there are still the warm, soft, welcoming beams of the church to remind us all, in the words of the Psalmist, that “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.”
