Thumbs Up to historic preservationist Virginia McAl-ester, who is organizing a non-profit group called Friends of Fair Park, which is modeled after the 500 Inc., a successful arts support group. McAlester says she’ll be looking for broad-based support from private citizens as well as from corporations, both of which, she hopes, will contribute money to pay for restoration projects, museum events and other projects that the city may not be able to fund.
