Thumbs Up to the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce and area property owners for raising $50,000 to help pay for a $100,000 intensive study of current and future traffic problems in the Far North Dallas area bounded roughly by LBJ Freeway, Dallas Parkway, Belt Line Road and Preston Road. The study, to which the City of Dallas is contributing the other $50,000, was a recommendation of a larger study of growth-related land use and traffic problems in the area. It will take a close look at the roads around the Galleria, according to Assistant City Manager Jim Reid. Mayor Starke Taylor, who lives in the area, says he thinks that much of the traffic congestion is created by people driving to Dallas from Piano and hopes that that city will also consider cooperating in the study.
