Gee, imitation sure is the best form of flattery. That’s why we were so flattered recently when a strangely familiar publication appeared in our office: G magazine. Several of us thought that the magazine was a prank-a parody of our own publication. G has the same cover design, the same typeface for its one-letter logo (despite the fact that G actually encompasses three cities), the same design for several layouts, two identical headlines and a number of the same story ideas.
But it’s no joke. G is the real-live magazine of the Golden Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point) in North Carolina.
The publication has been in existence since 1978. A representative of the Fisher-Harrison Corp., the magazine’s publisher, says that G recently obtained a new look.
Obtained, indeed.
