Thumbs Down to the Highland Oaks Homeowners Association for pressuring the city to drop its plan to build an open-air music pavilion in Moss Park. The plan was a beauty. It would have cost the city nothing, and in return, the city would have received a permanent home for Starfest and other symphony events in Moss Park on easily accessible Greenville Avenue. It would have meant a minor and only occasional inconvenience for homeowners, but they spoiled the deal. The homeowners were obviously too concerned with their own little worlds to think about what’s good for the entire city.
