THUMB AWARD WHY WASN’T GREENVILLE WIDENED YEARS AGO?

|

Thumbs Down to the City Planning Department for delaying the widening of Greenville Avenue until 1981. It’s a job that should have been done 15 years ago. That’s strange behavior from a city government that prides itself on being the best-run municipal machine in the country. The city had to pay Chili’s Restaurant at Meadow to build a duplicate restaurant where the parking lot used to be. The old restaurant is being demolished in the widening. You think the city would have learned its lesson, but apparently not. Belt Line Road and North Dallas Parkway are shaping up to be even bigger nightmares.
