Thumbs Up to Dallas voters for approving the city council’s decision to grant Warner Amex the Dallas cable TV franchise. Voters apparently saw through the referendum ploy pulled by supporters of poor loser Sammons Communications after Warner Amex was granted the franchise. Mayor Pro Tem Don Hicks, a longtime supporter of Dallas-based Sammons, should be ashamed of muddying the election waters with hysterical claims that Warner Amex was lying to the public in its advertisements.
