AIRING OUR LANDRY IN PUBLIC

|

Dallas News columnist Bob St. John’s biography of Tom Landry, appropriately called Landry, is selling briskly. The publisher of the book reported that the first printing of 30,000 copies sold out in two weeks and the book has now gone into a third edition. Howard Cosell’s praise of the book on national television a couple of months ago didn’t hurt sales a bit.

The sales figures are somewhat surprising to long-time observers of the publishing business, who have seen a lot of post-season football books, including some previous Landry biographies, fizzle rather fast.
