Last summer, the Dallas News made a hit with a genuinely innovative idea, “Fashion! Dallas,” a well-designed,
well-written section which has been praised in several forums, including D Magazine. Roughly a year later, July
16, the News started printing what some have called “Son of Fashion! Dallas,” an almost identical section
called “Beauty!Dallas.” The difference is that “Beauty! Dallas” is not an editorial beauty guide at all, but an
advertising section which is a shameless counterfeit of “Fashion!Dallas.” Readers who have difficulty determining
which portions of the News are editorial and which are novative idea, “Fashion! Dallas,” a well-designed,
