Developer Dave Fox’s proposed housing project in what has been referred to as the “Exall Park area” may actually be in Exall Park. Fox has a good chance of picking up the park, which is bounded by Hall, Bryan, and Live Oak, from the city.
Although nothin official has been announced, a park administrator says that a city plan to upgrade Exall Park has been put on hold until negotiations with Fox have been settled.
The city regards Fox’s project as essential to downtown revitalization, and the City Council recently voted to guarantee him $3.25 per square foot for the land he’s bought there, should the project fail.
Fox has announced that he’s going ahead with the project, although he doesn’t have all the land he originally wanted. Now it looks like he’s going to get the land from you.
