. . . the retailers who have given the two blocks of Henderson Street directly east of North Central Expressway a well-deserved face-lift. What was once an unattractive and deteriorating small business area is now an inviting mini-shopping center which includes antique shops, a restaurant, design studios and specialty shops for decorative accessories, plants and flowers, and children’s clothing.



… the Edison Theatre (2420 North Fitzhugh). If current movie fare is any indication of what’s in store for 1977, it’s nice to know there’s the pleasant alternative of Bogie, Bergman and Anto-nioni awaiting us at the Edison.



. . . Theatre Onstage (2120 McKinney). Located in Trinity Center, the group has mounted very promising productions of Steambath and Lion in Winter in their first year of production. The remainder of the season continues in January and includes 6 Rms Riv Vu, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Harvey.



1977 Should Be the Year for …



. . . Warehouse District Renovation. At the moment it’s still more of an idea than a reality. With office space occupancy rising in the downtown area and the prospect of completion of ReUnion and Thanks-Giving Square, 1977 seems the perfect year to make renovation of this district more than a dream. First step: getting the district put on the National Register. Such action will enable the city and private citizens interested in locating in the area to make use of available federal grants.



… a new concept for the city-owned Majestic Theater. Proper use of this facility would aid downtown revitaliza-tion. Some good suggestions: a winter home for the Shakespeare Festival, a home for the Dallas Civic Ballet, chamber music performances or theater group presentations.
