While the hectic holiday season may be overwhelming to some, it’s never bothered Sloan Milton. For her, the only difference between Christmastime chaos and the everyday chaos of having four kids and busy schedules is that one is merrier. With the whole family home during the holidays, the Miltons’ historic Lakewood abode becomes a cozy landing spot for family traditions like baking and decorating.

A self-proclaimed maximalist, Sloan leaves practically no inch of the house undecorated each December. Decking the halls is a family endeavor, with Sloan’s husband, Tyler, hauling the decorations out of storage and the kids helping to trim the tree. “We usually lose like seven ornaments,” Sloan laughs. “But it’s worth it.”

Items like a rainbow-toned Christmas tree and personalized stockings blend Sloan’s colorful, chic style with the comfort of the family home. The result is a fun and livable atmosphere that is perfect for Sloan’s most cherished holiday tradition: spending time with the people she loves.
