We asked Dallas tastemakers for their seasonal staples—those items that, for them, the holidays wouldn’t be complete without. The Conservatory’s Shasa Mitcham shares his favorites.

Favorite host gift: Nuori enriched hand wash and hand lotion. I love this skincare brand; they use the best natural ingredients. They also value sustainability, so it’s a gift you can feel good about giving. The scent profile is heavenly (white tea blossom), and it’s an unexpected gift that beats the typical candle or standard bottle of wine.

Favorite holiday scent: I love Ex Nihilo’s “Gold Immortals” perfume around the holidays. It’s bright, festive and glamorous. Sparkling bergamot and juicy pear are wrapped in bouquet of peony and ylang-ylang, all atop a velvety bed of warm amber and tonka bean. It is simply divine!

Go to sources for holiday décor: I love popping into Madison in Highland Park Village. They always have a beautiful assortment of holiday decor, accessories and collectibles.

Favorite holiday tradition: I love staying up late on Christmas Eve with family playing board games and listening to a continuous reel of my favorite Christmas tunes! It’s simple, but I really enjoy the time we get to spend with one another. It’s quite hilarious when the gaming starts to get too competitive.
