Madre

This 1,250-square-foot bungalow-turned-boutique sits along the row of popular West Lovers decor and clothing shops. (Look for the brightly painted coral door.) Owners—and moms—Mia Brous, Kerri Goldfarb, and Louise Marsh have backgrounds in interior design and specialize in traditional nurseries and kids’ rooms with a Palm Beach-inspired twist. The trio offers full-service design, utilizing their selection of designer fabrics, custom headboards, cribs, and rugs. Or you can shop the store for furniture, art, and accessories from lines such as Legacy Linens, Sweet William, and Pehr. Don’t miss the Little Bean shop-in-shop, where you can score cute kids wares, birthday gifts, and nap mats. 4715 W. Lovers Ln., 214-577-4077.

Baby Bliss

Since opening in 2005, this Snider Plaza baby and kids shop has been a go-to for moms yearning for a more modern approach to design. The store houses everything you need to outfit a nursery, including changing tables, custom upholstered gliders, colorful printed bedding sets from Auggie and Flink, and a vast collection of mid-century and contemporary cribs from Dwell Studio, Oeuf, and Bloom. The staff is knowledgeable when it comes to the latest and greatest necessities and can help you stock up for baby’s first few months at home. 6721 Snider Plaza. 469-232-9420.

Night & Day

Do you think of your little prince or princess as the American answer to George and Charlotte? If so, look to Jennifer Howell, who offers a nursery-design service through her children’s clothing store, Hip Hip Hooray! Much like the bubbles and Jon Jons that hang on the racks, Jennifer’s interior-design mindset is timeless. Schedule an at-home or in-store appointment to talk about your design dreams. Jennifer will help you choose everything from rockers and Moses baskets to bedding and curtains. Though the store carries AFK and Duk Duk cribs as well as Lulu Smith bedding, most of Jennifer’s designs are custom. 6816 Snider Plaza. 214-369-2788.

Baby By Design

This shop in Fort Worth’s Camp Bowie District specializes in contemporary baby design, clothing, and products. Aside from offering popular lines like Bella Notte bedding, Stokke cribs, and Jonathan Adler furniture and accessories, owner Hilary Colia also offers up three design-service packages to help you welcome your new bundle of joy in style. Choose from a full-service package that includes a two-hour consultation and installation, a supplemental package for those that have a direction but need a little help, and an hourly fee for room styling and finishing touches.
4806 Camp Bowie Blvd.,
Fort Worth. 817-731-0440.

The Loveliest

If your design motto involves slapping a monogram on anything and everything, you’ll fit in just fine at this adorable Uptown home and accessories store. Sisters Britni and Kelsey Wood and mother Joni specialize in one-of-a-kind embroidery design, with an in-store machine that makes personalizing a snap. The store’s children’s section features Fair Trade and handmade items that exude a California-cool vibe. We spotted baby blankets from the U.K., Pom Pom organic linen bedding, and wall hangings by Brooklyn-based weaver Maryanne Moodie. Once you’ve selected your favorites, choose from more than 40 monogram templates (including vintage patterns) and 120 thread colors to make your baby’s linens, outfits, and bedding his or her own. 2417 Mahon St. 214-484-7376.
