Antique Hunt: Treasure Box

|

D HOME SCOUT:
Photographer Billy Surface

THE MISSION:
Find and photograph an antique that speaks to you.

THE FIND:
A German faux-grained maple box with beveled glass top from the 1920s. The papers and accoutrements are original to the box. $240 at East & Orient Company.

WHAT WAS THE DRAW?
“It’s nice to open up an antique and find a story. If an object already has value, beauty, and can draw your curiosity, finding bits of history or a personal story inside can make you feel like you’ve stumbled onto a priceless treasure.”
