The stylist on the Modano photo shoot gives us the skinny.

We asked D Beauty associate editor Kristin Hull to style Mandy Modano for our story on page 144. And then we asked her to dish. Here’s what Hull had to say: “Mandy was a sheer pleasure. She wasn’t the least bit upset when we turned her dining room into a makeshift dressing room, or that their gorgeous dining table was covered with rows of Louboutins and Giuseppe Zanottis. As we sifted through the designer duds, we discussed which dress would best express her personal style while still representing the mood of the shoot (late summer backyard dinner party).

The blue Tricia Fix dress we settled on complemented her hair as well as her svelte figure, and it fit the theme perfectly. Mike even commented that he really liked it on her. We kept the jewelry simple since the dress was a little busy, and decided that instead of shoes, she’d go barefoot for a more casual feel. The end result, as you can see, was beautiful—if I do say so myself.”
