Reality Star Laurie Smith of Trading Spaces to Headline Tablescapes

Tablescapes, the annual fundraiser of the Dallas Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma, will be held October 13-14. The event, presented by Central Market, features tabletop designs from 65 of Dallas’ top designers and area retailers. Headlining this year’s event is interior designer Laurie Smith from the reality television show Trading Spaces. Credited with inspiring hosts with its collection of unique table settings, Tablescapes kicks off October 13 at 7:30 p.m. with Tablescapes by Candlelight, a reception featuring a cocktail buffet and the opportunity to visit with Smith. This reception is open to the public, and tickets are $110.

American Institute of Architects Dallas Tour of Homes

The Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Dallas) hosts the second-annual Tour of Homes benefiting the Center of Architecture. Open to the public, the self-guided tour showcases the finest residential architecture in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area designed by Texas architects. The homes on last year’s tour showcased modern residential design, and this year’s tour promises to demonstrate the talent possessed by some of the area’s best architects. Tickets are $25 per person.
