How Divine

A heavenly collection of china.

photography by Marc Montoya/Tinkerbox Studio

Twenty-nine-year-old Highland Park native Mary Ann Thompson-Frenk has created a heavenly collection of china based on the ancient magic seals associated with five different archangels. Taken from depictions embedded in the Dead Sea Scrolls, each design is said to have a connection with a specific planet and day of the week, while offering a life-enriching connection to its particular archangel. Thompson’s sources are also heaven sent: Sold at Stanley Korshak, the china is manufactured in England by the same company that produces china for Air Force One and U.S. embassies around the globe.

Shown: (Top to Bottom) Anael teapot ($375, available in “Tea for One” set). Sachiel butter and dinner plate (bottom) ($45, $86). Samael salad plate and Thompson “T” cup ($64, $46).
