Trade Secrets: Now Open

>> Reams of Eames: If you’re in the market for authentic, authorized designs by Charles and Ray Eames, Isamu Noguchi, Alvar Alto, George Nelson, and others, the newly opened Herman Miller Geiger showroom is the go-to site. One of only five such showrooms in the country, the 13,700-square-foot space houses furniture, lighting, and accessories designed by some of the greatest designers of the mid-20th century as well as Miller contract design for the office. 1700 Oak Lawn Ave., Ste. 100. 214-855-0200.

<< Regal Flair: Each piece of furniture at Ebanista’s new Dallas Design Center showroom seems to echo stories of romance and adventure. Their antique reproductions – from French to Italian to Biedermeier – feature lavish inlays of etched bone and enticing rose, tulip, and ewe woods. Ebanista is also developing an upholstery and fabric line in addition to its collection of accessories, including lighting, rock crystal chandeliers, and mirrors. 1025 N. Stemmons Fwy., Ste. 400. 214-760-7677.

>> Quick Foodie Fix: Nestled in the Pavilion shopping center near the historic Inwood Theatre, Dallas City Market is a gourmet treasure trove for neighborhood foodies and commuters. The market sells fresh-baked breads and pastries, gourmet-to-go delicacies, and offers an amazing salad bar featuring Wasabi-coated peas, roasted red peppers, marinated mushrooms, and more. 5600 W. Lovers Ln., Ste. 136. 214-350-TOGO (8646).

<< Sit & Sip: The comfy decor of Lakewood’s new Times Ten Cellars feels more like a clubby living room than a reimagined East Dallas post office. Great art and music make it the perfect place to relax with one of Times Ten’s great grapes. Owners Rob Wilson, Kert Platner, and Chris Lawler select their fruit from California vineyards and craft wines from vine to bottle using grapes from their estate, Cathedral Mountain Vineyards, located in Alpine, Texas. Sophisticated yet unpretentious, the wine is food friendly but structured enough to impress most serious oenophile. Keep an eye out for Times Ten wines at your favorite Dallas hot spots, including Javier’s and Taste. 6324 Prospect Ave. 214-824-9463. www.timestencellars.com.
