Shopping Around

Now open, coming soon, and just added. Check out these stylish new digs.

NOW OPEN:

Sometimes a store’s name just puts you in a good mood. Say it with me: Wild Poppies (2928 Oak Lawn Ave. 214-521-9500). Ahhh. Kind of makes you want to go buy flowers, right? And that’s the point. Exuding a cheerful glow and a whimsical manner, this full service retail florist also offers holiday interior design, gift accessories, and, very soon, wedding décor. While waiting for your boffo bouquet, check out the organic doggie treats and handsome vases. And say the name again. Go on.

Known for quality, precision, and style, Natuzzi (11700 Preston Road. 214-363-7070) specializes in fine leather sofas and Italian furniture. Expect modern and classic goods. Oh… and did I say plush?

Artist Dorian Vallejo (214-749-0262. www.doriansportraits.com) has painted portraits for some of Dallas’ most prominent families (Brittingham, Barbarie, and Jones, to name a few) and recently opened a new Deep Ellum studio.

COMING SOON:

The West Village’s new leather boutique Via Pelle (West Village. 214-780-0440) will be sure to make gift giving easier for everyone this season. This wonderful shop will offer classic and high fashion leather goods, such as calendars, agendas, laptop cases, and pen cups. Going to work never sounded or looked so good.

The much-awaited opening of Ben Diem’s store, Per Diem (2538 Elm St. 214-744-3436), is just around the corner. When doors swing open in January, expect design bests like Eggersmann contemporary kitchen, Xera stainless steel, Albed interior contemporary doors, and Riva furniture’s solid wood Italian collection. “Carpe diem” and shop!

JUST ADDED:

The famously fabulous Forty-Five Ten (4510 McKinney Ave. 214-559-4510) has added new lines such as Derek Lam, Jeffrey Chow, Pollini, and much more. Along with the always yummy Diptyque, the very chic Homer and Burn candles will make impressive gifts. For your exotic gal pal, why not give one of the unbelievably gorgeous Alexandra Knight crocodile bags – guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone’s holiday.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR:

Apples to Zinnias is hosting an open house December 4 to showcase their extensive Christmas collection.  All ornaments will be 20 percent off and product is brought in straight from the farm. Call Karen Akin at 214-361-2200 for details.
