Owner Gregory Barker’s Patina Bleu is a Big Easy jewel.

It’s a challenge to find, but the new Patina Bleu (835 W. Seventh St. 214-941-1131)—just minutes from the trendy Bishop Arts District in North Oak Cliff—is a back-street jewel. Owner Gregory Barker specializes in furniture and accessories that bear the genteel patina of age and wear, including architectural fragments, tables, unmatched chairs, and one-of-a-kind chandeliers and wall sconces. The Louisiana-raised shop owner has carved out a sliver of the French Quarter in the heart of Dallas. This one is worth the search.

And the happy shoppers rejoiced, saying, “Finally! Dallas has an Anthropologie.” And not just one but two. The NorthPark Center (1030 NorthPark Center.

214-691-8450) and Highland Park Village (100 Highland Park Village, Ste. 105. 214-219-4510) locations both feature plump pillows (pictured left), delicate linens, and various home accessories with feminine yet globe-trotting flair. Translation: lots of European and Asian-inspired goodies. Keep an eye out for the new furniture line.

COOL STUFF WE LOVE >>

When’s the last time a breakfast set inspired squeals of delight? “Ohmigawd! That is soooo cute!,” cooed our co-workers when they spied designer Alfredo Häberli’s line of vibrant, striped bowls, cups, saucers, and plates. It makes dinnertime more like party time. Though the entire collection is delightful, we have a crush on the stackable breakfast set and its adorably tiny egg cup. See, we’re not so hard-boiled after all. $103 at Translations, 4014 Villanova St. 214-373-8391
