Pillow Talk
The biggest trend to hit home dcor is comfy, colorful, and easy to toss aside. No, it’s not Mr. Right. (Dream on, kids.) I’s throw pillows in every hue, texture, and size imaginable. Price, too. Poochy Pillows
Kudos to the Crafty Ladies Club of Dallas, whose darling canine- and feline-inspired pillows will be sold at a fundraiser at Cafe Pacific on November 23, 2003. Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of the United States Spay and Neuter Clinic “a worthy cause. Woof!

Call of the Wild
Artist Yoshida Kazumi has reinterpreted the classic Tree of Life motif with a fantasy-like combination of vibrant hues and bold strokes. And at $10,000 a tapestry, that’s something to roar about. Clarence House, 1025 N. Stemmons Fwy., Ste. 490. 214-741-5600.

Inspired to Design
Dallas design community will be out in force “albeit with a dash of panache “for this year’s Dallas Design Day II. The daylong event features new products and collections from the city’s finest showrooms. This year’s list of luminaries includes Thomas Pheasant (right), Holly Hunt, Charles Faudree, Sheila Coombes, Mary Douglas Drysdale,  Diane Dorrans Saeks, Jarrett Ouellette, and Andrew Bradley “all descending on Dallas to show their latest collections. For more information and a list of participating showrooms, call 214-747-1700.

Things We Love
We adore the Italians. Florence. Fellini. Fettuccine. Okay, perhaps we love that last one a little too much. (The hips don’t lie.) But Design Within Reach’s new fall line had us at ciao, bella. Designer Pietro Arosio’s Parentesi chair is handsome and sleek, appropriate for a lobby, lounge, or living room. We’re especially fond of the version trimmed in aluminum. Now if it only came with a side of tiramisu. Mmmm. $1,295-$1,395 at Design Within Reach, 4524 McKinney Ave., Ste. 103. 214-521-0100.
