There are no private offices inside True North Advisors’ penthouse space on Turtle Creek Boulevard. Instead, every member of the wealth management firm’s team has a view, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Uptown. Sit-stand desks and a ping pong table may be staples in the tech and start-up worlds, but co-founder and CEO Scott Wood makes the case for these things at open offices across all industries: “One of our core values is ‘teamship,’ which is short for teams win championships. If you’re in a siloed environment, it’s really difficult to work together. We can display one unified team working cohesively. When a client walks into our offices, he or she can see all the people who are working for them. We’re not hiding behind walls. Transparency and openness are absolutely key.”
