My Office: Steve Ivy

Steve Ivy, who co-founded Dallas-based Heritage Auctions with Jim Halperin in 1976, began selling rare coins when he was just a teenager. Today, Heritage is the largest auction house founded in the U.S., and the largest collectibles auctioneer in the world. The company, whose headquarters office is on Maple Avenue, specializes in buying and selling the likes of fine art, jewelry and timepieces, rare currency, Civil War memorabilia, and luxury real estate. Ivy’s main responsibilities include managing the company’s marketing and selling efforts and shaping corporate policy for long-term growth. He’s an avid collector of Texas books and manuscripts, and has served on the boards of the Texas Historical Foundation and the Dallas Historical Society. Ivy, who attended but did not graduate from the University of Texas, has been married to his wife, Linda, for 43 years.
