WHY I LOVE MY JOB

I feel honored every day to be leading a business with such a rich heritage in both the state of Texas and the advertising industry itself. I also enjoy the people—the most talented and creative team I have worked with in my 25 years in the industry. We are in every sense a Band of Brothers.

BEST ADVICE

Image
From a leadership perspective, this is very simple: Do what you say you’re going to do. More broadly, though, always ensure that one of your organization’s key behaviors is to be fearless—challenge convention, shoot at the moon, and dream big. With great people around you, anything can happen.

FUN FACT

To say that I live in Dallas and play in a country band would not be surprising. But to say that I’m British and was playing in a country band a long time before leaving the United Kingdom for Texas might just be!

LOOKING AHEAD

I couldn’t wish to work in an industry that will be more central to business growth and cultural change in the coming years. Advertising has long played a key role in our lives—back to Elsie the Cow (which TracyLocke dreamed up for Borden Dairy in the 1930s!). The future is one of countless opportunities and places for brands to talk about themselves. I’m also inspired by the young people in our company. If we look after them and allow their talent and capabilities to freely sing, they will take TracyLocke a long way into its second century.
