Terrain (above left) Trek Top Fuel SL Price: $7,479.99 Like its road cousin (below left), the Trek Top Fuel SL is ultra-lightweight, weighing in at just over 20 pounds. The Superdrome
The nonprofit, volunteer-run Superdrome is the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for bicycles in the Dallas area. It boasts a 250-meter track with 44 degrees of banking in the turns for maximum speed, a fact not lost on the riders who came to participate here in the 1999 UCI World Cup of Cycling. The track can be used for racing, exercise, or recreational riding and plays host to numerous events, but only for single-gear track bicycles. Day passes are $5 and annual memberships are $100, good until calves turn to steel. (9700 Wade Blvd., Frisco, www.superdrome.com)
