SubscribeThe shoe makes the man, more so in business than anywhere else. But just because you’re a straight-laced personality doesn’t mean your footwear has to be. While black and brown are always good standbys, NorthPark’s Kenneth Cole New York store manager Korey Williams encourages men not to be afraid to lighten up. “For a more urban look,” he says, “a guy can wear a natural-colored shoe, which transitions the business shoe into an out-on-the-town shoe.” Sebastian Ahmadi, owner of Sebastian’s in Snider Plaza, agrees. “A khaki shoe with a natural leather sole is something to look for this month and coming fall,” he says. But regular lace-ups and loafers don’t have to be dull. Go for intricate stitching or bold buckles.
