On Tuesday, December 6, D staffers and more than 175 guests celebrated the magazine’s Best New Restaurants of 2022 with a sold-out, multi-course seated dinner at On the Levee. Cocktail hour kicked off the evening with passed hors d’oeuvres from Best of Big D’s Best Caterer of 2022, Vestals, a photo booth from Motus Red, cocktails from On the Rocks, and a live fashion sketch artist.
Guests enjoyed remarks from Nataly Keomoungkhoun,D’s online dining editor; Dining Critic Brian Reinhart; Executive Editor Kathy Wise; and Publisher Noelle LeVeaux. The meal featured dishes from six of the city’s best openings from 2022: Anise, Birdie, Knox Bistro, Darkoo’s Chicken Shack, Revolver Gastro Cantina, and Restaurant Beatrice. Dessert was served courtesy of Best of Big D’s 2022 Best Gelato winner, Botolino Gelato Artigianale.
