D CEO welcomed nearly 250 guests on February 10, for its first-ever Women Leading STEM luncheon and panel discussion. The event, held in person at the Frontiers of Flight Museum, brought together the region’s leading thinkers, pioneers, and executives who are paving the path for more women in STEM. Many future leaders were also in attendance, with student guests from several DISD high school STEM programs.

Gillea Allison, President of D Magazine Partners and Publisher of D CEO, and Jennifer Bartkowski, CEO of Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, welcomed the guests. Marissa Horne, Vice President, Financial Services Tech & Data, Technology Strategy & Governance, at Capital One served as panel moderator. The opportunities for connection were strengthened through in-person networking and Q&As with the speakers.

Panelists included Anne Chow, CEO, AT&T Business; Claudia B. Coleman, Vice President of Design Operations, Thomson Reuters; and Jahida Nadi, Vice President and General Manager, Hilti. Candid conversations from these top leaders provided a critical backdrop for insightful conversations, lessons learned, and key takeaways. Topics ranged from navigating a career path in male-dominated industries and recruiting more women into tech positions, to practical advice and insights from those who have “embraced the uncomfortable.”

A huge thank you to title sponsors AT&T Business, Capital One, Hilti, and Thomson Reuters for their help in making this incredible event possible.
