Acclaimed architect Richard Drummond Davis has one of the largest portfolios in Dallas. He’s best known for his Georgian and French estates scattered throughout Preston Hollow and the Park Cities, in addition to a few sleek and ultra-modern builds. (Check out some of his designs here.) Since establishing his own architecture firm over 40 years ago, Davis has also been entrusted with renovating historic homes to bring them into the modern era.

1122 North Winnetka Avenue is one such project. Originally built in 1961, Davis refreshed the Kessler Park home in 2019 and reimagined both its interior and exterior.

Outside, this property has a vibe that feels both traditional (think painted white brick) and contemporary (like asymmetrical windows and a cool wooden door). Guests are guided to the entryway by stone pavers that cross the verdant and shady front yard.

Inside, the home features vaulted ceilings, abundant windows, and simple white walls and wood floors.

The kitchen is outfitted with open shelving, a big marble island, and a cozy breakfast nook. The home’s layout includes five bedrooms, a handful of which have fun bathrooms with patterned wallpaper and tile.

Head to the backyard to check out an outdoor living space complete with a TV, a seating area, a small stretch of lawn, and a detached garage.
